Bark Bash Demo
AAC will perform a demonstration at the HernDOG Bark Bash in Herndon, VA on Sunday, Oct. 4. The Bark Bash runs from 12 – 3 PM. AAC will perform at 12:30 PM and 2 PM for ½ hour each time in the fenced baseball field.
We will play untimed toss fetch (5 throws) and untimed freestyle, league play style. The event will also include agility dog demonstrations, owner and dog team contests, adoptions, an off leash area and dog-themed vendors. Entry to HernDOG Bark Bash is free.
Additional information can be found here.
AAC dog volunteers, please let Joan (jzzzcleveland@gmail.com) know in advance (tentative is okay) that you are coming and provide some information (name, breed, age, perhaps where you got adopted from or where you are registered, other dog sports that you enjoy, other stuff if you think of it) so Joan can prepare a running order and some talking points. Time will be much tighter than at our usual demonstrations hence the advance planning of a running order. Please send your music to Ellen in advance also, if she does not already have it. Please aim for 90 second freestyle even though we won’t be running the clock.
Herndon Parks and Rec will provide 3 tents and 1 table. Limited parking is nearby; we should be able to unload there but might have to park across the street. The baseball field will be used for the “dog park” between our demonstrations. Our tents will be outside the fenced baseball field, probably at the end of the vendor section closest to the baseball field. We expect that we can refresh our water supplies at recreation building.
